If you’ve spent any time perusing the site you may have noticed a new link in the menu bar at the top. Design! Art has always been something I enjoyed since I was little. In grad school I started painting with acrylics on canvas, to help me de-stress and relax. Nothing fancy, basically just an at home sip and paint sort of thing. I haven’t painted much since moving to NH but last year I started messing around with graphic design in adobe illustrator.
I have a ton to learn and I am by no means a professional but I have found I really enjoy it. Plus it’s not nearly as messy as the painting, while still filling that void. I started with logos for my boys for custom discs and stickers, and just kind of went from there. A few months ago the custom stickers really seemed to gain quite a bit of popularity in the dog community and I designed a few more things for friends. Up until this point everything had been pretty much my vision/creation gifted to friends who’s dogs had inspired me.
This eventually led to a few specific requests to bring my friends’ visions to life. Each of these offered new challenges and learning opportunities which I really enjoyed. I have casually put more of my art out there recently and even accepted a few commissions. I hope to see the Radical Canine Design grow but even if it doesn’t it will continue to be a source of relaxation. Definitely looking forward to designing more of these dog related logos/stickers/designs
