2020 didn’t look much like I had planned or expected but it wasn’t a total loss.
Ryder earned his ASCA Open Gamblers title, and thanks to USDAA@Home is slowly chipping away at his Relay master.Rumor earned his first open level Qs and his first regular/standard Q in ASCA and is now retired from competitive Agility.
In June, Rumor earned his first senior jumps and established a new dock diving PB of 17’9”. His disc continues to improve little by little both in freestyle and toss and fetch.
Rugby is sound and happy. He officially returned to competitive sports over the summer and I could not be happier. His first freestyle competition back and only freestyle competition of the year, he squeezed out our first AWI qualifier! He also earned his first junior jumps with a PB of 12’4” after only a handful of times off the dock. He has also become a comfy partner in Agility, earning 6 titles through USDAA@Home and a handful of masters levels Qs.
2020 forced me, like many, to figure out how to work remotely and I discovered I actually quite enjoy teletherapy. I officially started my CCRP program and continued teaching classes at Pawsitive Kinection. I also started this blog, branched into graphic design, braided biothane dog gear, and homemade dog treats. I ran more agility in 2020 than I have in years and really enjoyed it.
As for 2021, I’d like to see if Ryder and I can finished up his APS (Advanced Performance Standard) and PRM (Performance Relay Master).
I’d like to do more dock diving with Rumor because it’s his favorite and I’d like to continue working on more consistency in both our T/F and Freestyle.
For Rugby, I’d like to see more consistency in our T/F and put together a strong Freestyle routine. I’m also hoping we can continue to grow as an agility team.
As for me, my goals for 2021 include finishing my CCRP certification, and more consistency and quality as a handler for my dogs in both agility and disc.
Cheers to the New Year
